Freshman Amy Brady threw the disc 82-03 to set a new Somers 9th grade record. Brady's best coming into the meet was 77-00 that she threw on Tuesday to win the Somers Frosh/Soph Championships. She broke the record set by Hanna Monte in 2005 of 80-02. Brady is now the ranked 19th in NY State for freshmen discus throwers. RANKINGS HERE
Dan Lisowski placed 6th in the disc with a toss of 142-08 and 5th in the shot put with a throw off 44-04. With Joe Hanley throwing a PR 40-6, and Victor Prato throwing
40- 4 we had three throwers over 40' for the second straight meet. This is the first season since 1989 that we have had three throwers over 40' in the same meet.
The boys 4x800m relay ran a season best time of 8:03.66. Frankie Licursi (1:58.3), Albert Tunas (1:58.0), Isaac Shelby (2:03.7) and Scott Friedman (2:03.5) ran the fastest time by a Somers team in almost 2 years.
Kevin Nolan and Athur Fiorella both cleared 12' in the pole vault to tie for 7th place. Both broke the sophomore school record. This is also the first time in 10 plus years we have had two vaulters over 12' in the same season.
Alexa Baiano ran 2:27.80 for a new PR in the 800m, Kristy Licursi walked 8:43.18 for a new PR, and the girls 4x800m relay of Rachel O'Connell, Crosby Tillman, Jackie Kruger, and Sarah Corning placed 6th in 10:21.84.

Section 1 State Qualifier rescheduled
PRACTICE WILL BE HELD TODAY AT 2:45PM.
The Section 1 State Qualfier scheduled for Thursday, May 27th and Friday, May 28th has been rescheduled to do pending thunderstorms.
The first day of events will now take place on Friday, May 28th at Arlingington HS with a 5:30pm start. THURSDAY EVENTS WILL BE RUN ON FRIDAY NOW.
The second day of events will now take place on Saturday, May 29th at White Plains with a 10:00am start. FRIDAY'S SCHEDULE HAS BEEN MOVED TO SATURDAY.

Boys win Sectional title 91-76 over Pearl River
The Somers boys track and field team won their 7th title since 2001 and 8th spring title overall, 91-76 over Pearl River. It was also the 16th boys track sectional titles (indoor and out) that coach Arnesen has led the team to.
Frankie Licursi, Dan Lisowski, and Jonathan Groton starred to bring home the title though it truly was a team effort.

Tillman wins at Loucks
Somers junior Crosby Tillman did something only one other female Tusker has every accomplished. She won the Loucks Games.
Tillman raced to a win in the 1600m Racewalk, crossing the line in 7:26.39, beating 2nd place rival Destiny Lalane from Bay Shore by over 17 seconds. Lalane was the indoor state champion.
Tillman's time was only 2 seconds off the meet and school record, held by 2006 graduate Kate Cannon. Cannon won the Loucks Games in 2005, also her junior year. The two girls are now ranked 1-2 all time at Loucks. Cannon won by almost 40 seconds in 2005.
Tillman is now ranked 1st in the US in the 1500m, 1600m, and one mile race walks and 3rd in the 5000m racewalk (26:40 at Penn and a new school record).

Girls and Boys teams win at the Lions Club Meet
Both the Boys and Girls teams easily won the Class B division at the Somers Joe Wynne Lions Club Invitational. The Boys won with 85.333 points over Hendrick Hudson who had 46.333 points.
The Girls won the title with 94 points over Harrison who had46.333 points.
The boys placed 6th overall with 28 points and the Girls placed 15th overall with 15 points
