Freshman boys roll at Manhattan

The freshman boys team ran to a great 7th place finish in the Boys Freshman race. The team averaged 7:08 on the day, and with the 2:20 conversion to the old course, it is arguably the best freshman team of all time. Their 7:08 average was also 28th best on the day. Over 300 HS competed in the meet.

Once again Justin Zorn was the top Tusker. Zorn placed 20th in 6:38. Teammate John Courtien ran 7:01 to place 34th and Ben D'Urso was 52nd inn 7:14. That's when the Tuskers stepped it up. Mike Maloney placed 55th in 7:20 and Mike Polvere ws 63rd in 7:26. Dan Carleton was 74th in 7:35 and Joe Laroca 78th in 7:37. All 7 would have had a chance to break 10:00 on the old course.

The boys will try and win their 3rd straight Westchester County Freshman title on October 31st at home.

The varsity boys did not have their best day but Albert Tunas and Charles Conway broke the 14 minute barrier and are ranked in the top 15 in school history. The team average of 14:01 in the 5th best ever. The boys 2007 team also ran poorly at the meet and then went on to win the Sectional title. Time will tell if the boys are good enough to accomplish that feat.

The JV boys turned in some solid performances. Mike Persic's 14:29 was a huge PR. Ryam Matsumoto ran 14:59, Mike Rosillo 15:06, Alex Fusco 15:48, Mikey Neborak 15:52, and elliot Kravits 15:54. The team placed 7th.
