Boys 4 x 800 runs great at Bishop Loughlin Games

The boys 4 x 800 relay team of Charles Conway, Scott Friedman, Justin Zorn, and Isaac Shelby ran a time of 8:21.62 to place 5th at the prestigious Bishop Loughlin Games at the Armory on Saturday, December 18.
The team ran in the second section and was seeded 31st overall due to some creative and wishful seed times by many teams. The team placed led most of the way in the second section and broke into the overall scoring and medals.
All four members of the relay ran great races. Charles Conway led off with a time of 2:04.5
(30.7, 61.9, 1:33.1) and handed off in second. Scott Friedman took the lead and ran a great time of 2:02.8 (28.4, 58.5, 1:30.4). The sophomore Justin Zorn ran a strong race and held onto the lead with a time of 2:10.0 (30.5, 62.4, 1:34.3). Isaac Shelby improved 5 seconds from the Kick-Off Meet with an anchor leg of 2:04.5 (30.7, 60.3, 1:31.3).
8:21.62 is a great time this early in the season. The 2008 team that ran 7:55 in March and placed 5th at Nationals for All American honors ran a time of 8:22.98 at the Bishop Loughlin games in December. The team is on track to break and 8:00 and maybe faster.

LISOWKSI WINS AGAIN AT THE JIM MITCHELL MEET
Dan Lisowksi won the shot put at the Jim Mitchell Meet at the Armory on Friday, December 17, with a toss of 49' 5". This is his third win in three meets this season. His 49' 5" puts him third on the all time Somers List, behind only Nick DeBellis 49' 11" - 2005 and Billw Wortner - 49' 8" - 2007. The school record should fall at the Pearl River meet on 12/27.
Joe Hanley placed 7th with a toss of 42' 6.5". Hanley has throw over 42' in all three meets this season. Victor Prato is coming on and placed 12th with a distance of 40' 4.75 ". Prato threw 45'9" last Spring. We should have three throwers over the 45" mark for the first time ever.
