Only 32 small schools in the country will race at The Penn Relays in April, but the Somers Tuskers will be there again this year. The team of Frankie Licursi, Albert Tunas, Scott Freidman, and Isaac Shelby ran 8:09.07, the 4 best team in school history.
Licursi led off with a 2:01.3 split and handed off to Albert Tunas, who joined an elite group of Tuskers with his 1:59.8 carry. Sophomore SCott Friedman ran 2:03.4 and gave way to junior Isaac Shelby, who was timed in 2:04.0. All four Tuskers ran personal bests. It was the fastest time for a Somers team since the 2008 team ran 7:55 to place 6th at NSIC.
The Tusker relays are some of the best in New York State Class B. The 4x200m is ranked 2nd, the 4x400 is ranked 5th, and the 4x800 3rd.
