Persic wins the Hendrick Hudson Field Meet Pole Vault Title

Persic and Maenza move up the All Time Somers Lists at the Hendrick Hudson Field Fest Meet
On Wednesday, April 20 at the Hendrick Hudson Field Fest Meet Nick Maenza and Samantha Persic posted impressive personal bests.

Sami Persic won the pole vault with a personal best clearance of 9'3". This mark puts her at number four all time behind Rachel Cassata (11'5"), Sarah Keating (9'6"), and Shona Craig (9'6").
Sami had a very good attempt at 9'7" which would have moved her into sole possession of the number two spot on the list.

Nick Maenza hurled the 12 lb. hammer 127'3" for a 26' personal best throw and the number three performance all time for Somers, behind only Jon Crowley (131'3" in 2010), and Billy Wortner (130'5" in 2009). Nick placed fourth for a medal in a solid field. With this being his first hammer effort of the year, we are expecting the hammer throw record to be broken soon for a third straight year.
